# our technology

SYNZA leverages cutting-edge cryptography and AI to enable **private, verifiable trading**. This page explains the core technologies powering the network.

## 🔐 Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs)

### What are Zero-Knowledge Proofs?

A zero-knowledge proof allows one party (the prover) to **prove** to another party (the verifier) that a statement is true, **without revealing any information** beyond the validity of the statement itself.

### Example

**Statement**: "I know a trading strategy that beats the market"

**Traditional Proof**: Share your entire strategy ❌\
**Zero-Knowledge Proof**: Prove it works without revealing how ✅

### How SYNZA Uses ZKPs

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Proof of Signal Generation

Prove that a trading signal was generated correctly without revealing:

* The AI model parameters
* The training data used
* The signal generation logic

```
Input: Encrypted market data
Process: AI model inference (hidden)
Output: Trading signal
Proof: ZK-SNARK proving correct execution
```

Verifier checks:

* ✅ Signal came from approved AI model
* ✅ Computation was done correctly
* ✅ No tampering occurred

Verifier CANNOT see:

* ❌ Model weights or architecture
* ❌ Input data
* ❌ Internal computations
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Proof of Data Ownership

Prove you own a dataset without revealing its contents:

```
Statement: "I own 10,000 profitable SOL trades"
ZK Proof: Proves ownership + statistics
Revealed: Dataset size, date range, profitability metrics
Hidden: Actual trades, strategies, timing
```

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Proof of Correct Training

Prove an AI model was trained correctly:

```
Prover: "I trained this model on 1M data points with 95% accuracy"
ZK Proof: Cryptographic proof of training process
Verifier: Confirms claim without seeing data or model internals
```

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### ZKP Technology Stack

SYNZA uses **zk-SNARKs** (Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Arguments of Knowledge):

| Property            | Benefit                                   |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| **Succinct** | Proofs are tiny (<1KB) and fast to verify |
| **Non-Interactive** | No back-and-forth communication needed    |
| **Zero-Knowledge**  | Reveals nothing beyond validity           |
| **Efficient**       | Verification costs \~0.0001 SOL           |

Implementation:

* **circom** for circuit design
* **snarkjs** for proof generation
* **Solana programs** for on-chain verification

## 🔢 Homomorphic Encryption (HE)

### What is Homomorphic Encryption?

Homomorphic encryption allows **computation on encrypted data** without decrypting it first.

### Example

**Traditional**:

```
Encrypted Data → Decrypt → Compute → Encrypt → Result
                    ↑
            Vulnerable moment: data exposed
```

**Homomorphic**:

```
Encrypted Data → Compute on Encrypted Data → Encrypted Result
                          ↑
                  Data NEVER decrypted
```

### How SYNZA Uses HE

#### Private AI Inference

```python
# User's encrypted trading data
encrypted_data = encrypt(trading_history, user_public_key)
# AI model runs on encrypted data
encrypted_result = ai_model.predict(encrypted_data)
# Only user can decrypt result
result = decrypt(encrypted_result, user_private_key)
```

**Key benefit**: AI model never sees raw data, user never exposes strategy.

#### Encrypted Data Aggregation

Compute statistics on multiple encrypted datasets:

```
Dataset 1 (Encrypted) ─┐
Dataset 2 (Encrypted) ─┤
Dataset 3 (Encrypted) ─┼─→ Aggregate → Encrypted Statistics
Dataset 4 (Encrypted) ─┤
Dataset 5 (Encrypted) ─┘
Result: Combined insights without exposing individual datasets
```

### HE Technology Stack

SYNZA uses **Partially Homomorphic Encryption** for efficiency:

* **Paillier Cryptosystem**: Additive homomorphism for linear operations
* **ElGamal**: Multiplicative homomorphism for certain ML operations
* **Hybrid Approach**: Combine different schemes for complex computations

Trade-offs:

* ✅ Practical performance on modern hardware
* ✅ Compatible with many ML algorithms
* ⚠️ Limited to specific operations (vs. Fully Homomorphic Encryption)

## 🤖 Private AI Models

### Encrypted AI Training

SYNZA enables training AI models on encrypted data:

```
Step 1: Data Encryption
Multiple data owners → Encrypt their datasets → Upload to SYNZA
Step 2: Federated Learning
Model trained across encrypted datasets in parallel
Step 3: Encrypted Aggregation
Gradients combined without decrypting
Step 4: Model Publication
Final model published with ZK proof of correct training
```

**Result**: AI model trained on sensitive data without ever seeing it.

### AI Model Types

#### 1. Pattern Recognition Models

## 🔗 Blockchain Integration

### Smart Contract Architecture

#### Signal Verification Contract

```solidity
pragma solidity ^0.8.0;
contract SignalVerifier {
    struct Signal {
        bytes32 signalHash;
        bytes zkProof;
        address modelAddress;
        uint256 timestamp;
    }
    function verifySignal(
        Signal memory signal
    ) public view returns (bool) {
        // Verify ZK proof on-chain
        return zkSNARKVerifier.verify(
            signal.zkProof,
            signal.signalHash
        );
    }
}
```

**Gas cost**: ~~50,000 gas (~~$0.01) per signal verification

#### Trade Execution Contract

```solidity
contract PrivateTradeRouter {
    function executePrivateTrade(
        bytes memory encryptedIntent,
        bytes memory zkProof
    ) public payable {
        require(verifyProof(zkProof), "Invalid proof");
        // Decrypt intent in secure enclave
        // Execute trade atomically
        // Prevent mempool exposure
        emit TradeExecuted(msg.sender, blockHash);
    }
}
```

   ↑                              ↑
   │     Encrypted Channel        │
   │     (libp2p + TLS 1.3)       │
   ↓                              ↓

## ⚡ Performance Optimizations

### 1. Batch Proof Generation

Generate one proof for multiple signals:

```
Traditional: 100 signals = 100 proofs (slow)
SYNZA: 100 signals = 1 aggregated proof (fast)
Speedup: 100x faster verification
Cost: 99% reduction in gas fees
```

### 2. Recursive Proofs

Prove that you correctly verified another proof:

```
Proof A → Proof of Proof A → Proof of Proof of Proof A → ...
Result: Constant-size proof regardless of computation complexity
```

### 3. GPU Acceleration

Use GPUs for ZK proof generation:

```
CPU: 10 seconds per proof
GPU: 0.5 seconds per proof
20x speedup enables real-time signal generation
```

### 4. Trusted Execution Environments (TEE)

Use hardware-based secure enclaves for sensitive operations:

* **Intel SGX** for encrypted computation
* **AMD SEV** for memory encryption
* **ARM TrustZone** for mobile devices

Benefit: Additional security layer beyond cryptography.
